18th Century New England Small Green Glaze Ovoid Liquor Jug

A rare and beautiful small ovoid New England green glaze redware liquor jug that is in good condition for its age. There are some chips at the base and around the mouth but it was a well-used jug that has survived for at least 200+ years. The hints of the green glazing in the jug comes from the use of copper glazing in the firing of the jug and this green copper glaze component can be seen as green spots on the sides of the jug.  It is beautiful in its simplicity and its applied handle with the thumbprint of the potter who made this jug at the base of the handle. It is 6.25" tall and has a 3" bottom diameter.

My living room 2018

Make sure to click on each picture to see the entire picture and its description! Finally! I have gotten a chance to take some pics of my home. Most of these pictures are of my living room that is set up as a lawyer's office from the early 1800s. (Yes! I am crazy!) This first pic is what you see when you walk into my living room and look to the right.
