18th Century Scribed and Shaved Powder Horn

This is another wonderful 18th century powder horn from a 50+ year old collection that makes this beauty a fresh to the market find. It has the most wonderful scribe marks and two-color design that shows the care and love that went into its construction. The horn was scraped down to its dark brown undercolor at the small end (pouring end) of the horn to give it the look you see in the pictures. It also has its original plug at the pouring end and what looks to be the initials 'Y Y' carved into the wood top. It also looks like there is a faint carving of a teepee or a triangle behind and below the initials. An interesting and beautiful early powder horn. It is approximately 10" long.
