19th Century New England Oval Pantry Box in Its Original Blue Paint with Repairs
A very nice early 19th century blue painted pantry box that was important to the household in which it resided. It has been lovingly repaired at least twice with two types of nails and has the beginnings of the greenish cast associated with blue painted surfaces that are from before the middle of the 19th century. It is a Hersey or Hersey-type box found in New Hampshire and made in Hingham, MA.
It has a 4.5" x 6" diameter and stands 2" tall.
