Man in Woman's Dress? Mid 19th Century Ambrotype

This is an interesting ambrotype because I think it depicts a man in a woman's gown that may even be a mpurning gown. There does not seem to be a corset under the bodice and the person's hands are quite large for a woman. It does seem to be a conundrum as to the identity and gender of the person in this ambrotype. It is 2" x 2.5".

My living room 2018

Make sure to click on each picture to see the entire picture and its description! Finally! I have gotten a chance to take some pics of my home. Most of these pictures are of my living room that is set up as a lawyer's office from the early 1800s. (Yes! I am crazy!) This first pic is what you see when you walk into my living room and look to the right.
