Thisis a early antique Shaker shallow bowl possibly from the Canterbury Shaker Community that was made for the community and not for sale to outsiders. It has its original yellow paint on it that has mellowed to a wonderful dark mustard color. Made so perfectly that is has no cracks or splits even though it has become 'out of round' over the years, this bowl shows the care and expertise of the Shaker brothers who made this bowl. 
It is slightly out of round with a 11.25" x 10.5" top diameter and stands  2.25" tall.
