Antique Tole Painted Tea Caddy in a Blue Bowl
An early 19th century tole painted tea caddy seated in an early out of round bowl in blue paint. The bowl is early but the paint is not original. There is wear and age to the paint so it may have been applied in the early 1900's. The combination of the early surface of the tea caddy, the early blue on the bowl, the rusty surface of the bells and the colors of the greens make this a beautiful arrangement. All of the greens and berries are not real to protect the surface of the caddy and the bowl. Another way to decorate would be with real holly berries and leaves on top of the silk greens once you get this beauty home. No glue or tape was used in this decoration. It has an 11.5" x 12" top diameter and the entire piece stands 9" tall.
