A RARE book in its fourth edition, On The Causes, Cure, and Prevention of The Sick-Headache by James Mease (1771-1846). This rare and wonderful book (meant for doctors and pharmacists) is in fair/poor condition with the spine almost completely gone and most of its pages loose or detached from the spine. It is complete with a four page advertisement at the front of the book and all of its pages intact.  The rarity of this book is what makes it important and a collector's item with the name and profession of its original owner pasted to the front cover. It is priced with its imperfections in mind. I have not been able to find this book for sale in any online or physical book store. I can only find the fifth edition in the collections of major colleges and universities.
Mease was a physician, scientific thinker and author, and was one of Philadelphia's most prominent citizens. He wrote books, pamphlets, and treasties on many subjects including medicine, agriculture, and geology.
