An early single burner tin whale oil peg lamp that was used to convert or upgrade your old candlesticks to the newest form of lighting. Starting around 1800, whale oil became the most popular way to light your home and these little peg lamps were all the rage. Not many survive today as they were small and cheap. This little lamp is complete and has its original wick. The hogscraper shown in the pictures is not included in the price of the peg lamp but is also available on my website.
