Early 19th Century Sandwich Glass Whale Oil Lamp

Early 19th Century Sandwich Glass Whale Oil Lamp

This is a free-blown and pressed glass whale oil lamp from the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company of Sandwich, Massachusetts, c. 1830. As a teenager I was able to visit the old Sandwich Glass Company Museum and found the styles, colors, and designs of their different types of lamps to be amazing. This is a 'simple'colorless glass lamp that has a free-blown top (with its original double burner) and a pressed glass base. A Sandwich glass lamp should be in very early lighting collection as it shows the wonderful workmanship of blown glass at an affordable price.

It is 8.5" tall x 4" wide.

Offered with FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING. International buyers please use the shipping feature in your shopping cart.
