A very nice cut and paste American silhouette marked with the date 1824 and the man's name: H. Brooks on the back. It is very rare to find a silhouette with a name attached to it and even rarer to find a date of construction.The embellishments around the silhouette are as bright and wonderful as the day they were painted. There is some gold painted gesso missing on the frame but it is otherwise in great shape.
