New England Redware Flask - Early and Primitive
An nice little (5" tall) antique New England redware drinking flask that is probably late 1700's to early 1800's. It has great early color and the glaze, that has not completely covered its sides allows for the unglazed red clay to be seen. This might have been intentional as the unglazed clay would have allowed the flask to 'breathe' and might have kept the contents cool in hot weather.
