18th Century Walnut Hanging Wall Box in Its Original Patina

18th Century Walnut Hanging Wall Box in Its Original Patina

A large 18th century walnut wood hanging box in its beautiful original patina. Never painted, this box is at least 225 years old but doesn't show its age at all. There is a crack at the front top of the box around the hanging hole and one on the back that does not go the entire length of the box. It has those lovely large dovetails with the scribe marks that are easy to see and that wonderful original dark patina. Found in Massachusetts, it is 15" tall to the top of the hanger x 10" tall to the top of the case x 8" wide x 8" deep so it is a large heavy box.

My Living Room 2018

My tastes in furniture and antiques are taking me earlier into our past and my living room right now my favorite room in my home. That grain painted wardrobe that you can see in this picture will soon be replaced by an 18th century highboy that I fell in love with while up in New England a few months ago.
