Mid 19th Century Blue Firkin with Remnants of Orange Painted Overcoat
A very nice mid 19th century blue firkin that was luckily over painted with an orange paint and then with a green coat of paint that preserved that wonderful blue color. It has wonderful early square cut nails with the nails at the end of each lap larger than the other nails. It is a 'middle of the stack' firkin and has a 9" top diameter, a 9.5" bottom diameter and stands 9" tall.
