Revolutionary War Era Powder Horn-Highly Decorated Pennsylvania German Design

Revolutionary War Era Powder Horn-Highly Decorated Pennsylvania German Design

$369.00Price

This is one of the most beautiful and rare powder horns that I have ever seen and it is from either Lancaster, Bucks, Berks, or Montgomery County, PA. With its Pennsylvania German highly stylized vine or tree branch with its PA German tulips and those wonderful round fruits, it is a treasure that is very rare and definitely something to be treasured. At one time it was painted green - you can see remnants on the wooden cap - and it also has the artist's initials carved in it. The 'TR" is very small but also highly stylized. It has also had new nails added in the early 1800's to replace those that had oxidized to the point that they rusted away. The huge round 'nails' on the cap may have also been later additions but they may also be original to the horn. The pictures definitely do not do it justice and it is from a 35+ year old collection so most definitely 'fresh to the market'.

It is 14" long.

Layaway is also possible on this item so either email me at winterberryfarmprimitives@live.com or use the contact form on my website so I can set up your layaway.
